Welcome to the World of ‘Outsider’ Artist’ Elizabeth
Turnbull
In creating this website my major objectives are: -
- To share my own art and experiences with as many people as possible,
both in Australia and throughout the world;
- To help create a greater awareness in Australia of ‘outsider’
art and to encourage and develop contacts with other ‘outsider’
artists of all kinds in Australia and elsewhere, with the aim of promoting
a better understanding of these artists and their work;
- To give selected self-taught and ‘outsider’ artists the
opportunity to exhibit their work by making available on a guest artist
basis a ‘virtual gallery space’ plus an ongoing ‘virtual
stockroom’ facility;
- To liaise and cooperate with organisations who are seeking to promote
the artistic aspirations of people with disabilities and
- To reach out to anyone struggling to come to terms with their own
artistic expression and finding no ‘home’ in the world of
mainstream art and hopefully helping them gain a new perspective on
their art and their lives.
